Saturday is also Membership and Registration day for the entire Mens Senior Section including all first and second year Colts.There is a strict no pay-no play policy this year and players will not be permitted to participate in matches from 4th September until they have submitted funds. Players that haven`t paid will also no longer be insured for training from next Tuesday. Life Members and Vice Presidents are invited to contact Barney Richards to book their places - full details may be found in the Events - Social section of the website Aug 24, 2010, 11:09 pm Saracens partnership with Southgate College's Centre of Rugby Excellence programme [CORE] kicks off the new season at Bramley Road on Thursday 2nd September at 1500, when Trials for new students will be held. What is the Core? The Southgate centre of rugby excellence is a three way partnership between Southgate College, London Skolars rugby league club and Saracens Amateur rugby union club, which aims to support the development of the best young rugby talent in the North London area. Who is it aimed at? The core program is for students between 16 & 19 years old and combines education with rugby league and rugby union throughout the academic year, playing in the student leagues against quality opposition, with the opportunity to go on and achieve county, regional and national squad recognition. What courses can students study? Students can study any course at Southgate College, however in order to gain the full benefits of the Core program, it is recommended that they enroll on one of the sports courses. This will allow them to learn about nutrition, fitness, psychology, health and safety, sports coaching and many other areas related to the sports industry; as well as allowing them to attend all the training sessions, gain relevant industry work experience and also achieve their coaching badges in their preferred code of rugby. They will also be assisted with their progression opportunities, whether this is university, employment, work experience or playing opportunities in the UK or abroad. Are you a Doctor? Physio? Nurse? First Aider? Can you volunteer a few hours a week? Saracens Amateur 1st XV needs medical assistance for the 2010/2011 season. Someone who can attend Home and Away matches throughout the Season, can provide pre-match taping and deal with any medical emergencies during the match. The Club currently has a Physio in attendance on Club Nights but needs a volunteer or a group of volunteers who could attend Saturday games, maybe on a rota basis. Want to know more?
