Saracens will play UCS Old Boys 1st XV at Bramley Road this Saturday 20th January, kick off 2.15pm
UCS are going well in London NW4, currently in second place in their league, 2 divisions above Saracens.
This will be a really tough challenge ahead of our important league fixtures ahead - a full turn out at training on Thursday is required, and the squad for the game will be posted Thursday night.
The 2nd XV game v Old Ashmoleans 2nds is ON this weekend - contact Scott McDonald for more details. Jan 14, 2007, 5:27 pm An exhilirating performance in yesterdays 86-0 thrashing of Datchworth. With over half the team scoring tries, it was truly a team effort from start to finish. Under the very good captaincy of our 'Reverend' James Radcliffe, the team demonstrated a hunger for possession, recycling and passing the ball with ease. A bagful of tries (4) for Matt James, a double each from both Liam Kenny and James Radcliffe, and a try each for 5 other players ensured a very satisfying day out for all. Special mention must go out to our colts who always make a huge difference to our ball recycling and out and out pace.
The opposition were at a disdvantage with a man down from the start, I would like to thank John Marriot, Andy Hutch and Mr Jenkins for playing for the opposition in what must have been a pretty de-moralising game of rugby.
Although there were many outstanding contributions for the Sarries, in particular from James, Matt Jenkins, Matt James, Sean Hughes (Snr), Ronald and Jack Girdlestone, the man of the match award goes to Sean Hughes (Jnr), for his lineout takes, tackling, foraging and bursts throughout the game- Well done to one and all !!!

A poor opening period, which saw Saracens concede 15 points in 20 minutes determined this week's League result, as OMs beat Saracens 15-5.
Saracens looked off the pace, and exhibited little of the set piece control and sharp finishing from the back line that has characterised many of the season's performances. A revival of sorts in the second half saw OMs kept scoreless; while several scoring chances were not taken, Chris Hurrell went over for a late try for Sarries.
The result now opens up the chase for the League title, as the table shows:
In simple terms, Saracens will take the title by winning all remaining matches; this needs to include the away fixture v Old Streets, whose only defeat this season has come at the hands of Saracens pre-Christmas.
Old Streets can win the title by defeating Saracens in this match...it promises to be a big day out... Terry. Jan 3, 2007, 9:09 pm Welcome back everybody I hope everyone has had a good Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!!!! Unfortunately we haven't been able to arrange a 1st XV fixture for this weekend other than an away trip to Cambridge which I thought was a little to far. Terry has also arranged a ref and catering for a home match so we declined the offer. Unfortunately we have not been able to find another fixture and I have reluctantly decided to cancel training tomorrow evening due to this. Training will of course resume next Tuesday 9th January and then on Thursday of the same week in preparation for the match on Saturday against Old Millhillians. I look forward to seeing you all next week..... Nobby |
