Kasabi Steps Down as Skipper on Year-End High Note
Dec 17, 2006, 1:22 am
Popular 1st XV Captain Christo Kasabi announced following the win over Old Habs RFC that he would be stepping down from the role on the 31st December, and immediately congratulated new skipper Nick 'Nobby' Bird on his appointment.

Christo has led the Saracens 1st XV to two winning seasons, including last year's Herts/Middlesex III North league title. A Saracens Junior player from the age of 10, Christo has also represented Hertfordshire at U.19 Level and toured Australia with the Saracens 'Class of 2002'. Comfortable at either front row or back row for Saracens, he has been a leading member of every side he has represented. "It has been a real honour captaining such a great group of players from a club with the history of Saracens" said Kasabi "However, I think the time is right for the team to have some fresh leadership - I know Nobby will do a great job in the role"

"Christo has done a fantastic job for the Club, and I am delighted that he has agreed to stay in a support role for me" commented the new skipper, also a Saracens Junior from 1991 and Herts County player. "I am really looking forward to the challenge of leading the side in 2007. We have a fantastic team atmosphere and I am confident we can win promotion again this season"
