USE OF PITCHES DURING SUMMER
Jun 15, 2012, 8:18 pm

If you have been around the Club recently you will be aware that we are currently in the process of carrying out renovation work on the pitches and training areas. This involves killing weeds, drilling, top-soiling, fertilising and seeding.

The weather has not been very helpful of late and the contractors have their own schedule to manage which means that they will need to undertake this work as and when they can fit it in.

We are requesting therefore that all members as individuals or as age- groups refrain from using the playing and training areas for any purpose forthwith and until such time as this essential work has been completed. We anticipate completion of all groundworks
towards the end of July.

May we also remind you that under the terms of our lease with Enfield Council, we are not permitted to use the park – as Saracens – for organised activities during the summer months when most of the park reverts to the Cricket Club.

Thanking you for your co-operation.

The Committee

Saracens Nemesis Defeat Sarries 2011 in Gripping Final at Reunited
May 1, 2012, 5:52 pm

The rain could not drown the passion and enthusiasm of the 6 teams that competed for the coveted Saracens Reunited 10s crown this Sunday, and a packed grandstand was treated to an excellent day of competitive rugby.

Saracens Reunited Finalists 2012

Last year's winners, the Class of 2005, failed to make their previous experience count, losing to both Nemesis and Sarries 2011 in the group stages. Meanwhile, in Pool B, Jim Goss' Ronin Anchors squad couldn't match the pace available to their opponants in the Colts Reunited and Class of 2002 sides, who both clinched their semi-final berths.

The semis witnessed the Class of 2011 take a significant scalp, as Merlin St Vincent beat the 2002 defence to score the winning try, taking his team to the final in their first appearance at the Reunited tournament. There they were joined by Saracens Nemesis, who overcame the Colts Reunited in a well-contested encounter.

A gripping final followed, with the Class of 2011 leading with three minutes to go by 10 points to 5. But Nemesis rallied, and a direct break lead to a try scored under the posts, which was duly converted for the victory.

Congratulations to our winners, and respect to the 2011 squad who reproduced their excellent form from Argentina last summer. A huge vote of thanks to all the players, spectators, referees, scorers and the hard-working teams in the bar and kitchen for making Saracens Reunited a huge success!
