Apologies for this not being posted earlier,in fact it`s so late it`s almost old news! And with that in mind I`ll be brief.Suffice to say,The First team were excellent in beating the then league leaders. The entire team played well but if any had to be singled out Christo Kasabi and Nick Bird were sharp in the pack and Nick Wheatley was very classy at 9 and clearly Man Of The Match.Brothers Glenn and Kris Kirkton notched up 4 tries between them!
A truly outstanding display and the best I`ve witnessed thus far.In fact it gave me a spring in my step which has remained with me throughout the week!
Terry Edwards,
Team Manager. Nov 12, 2006, 11:17 am Yet another win for the Sarries 2nd team!!
A potentially difficult fixture a long way from Bramley Road on a cold blustery day, our team totally dominated from start to finish. The backline again littered with colts and 1st team players in Radders, James Lambie, Peter Sleath and Matt James ensured that ball in hand would always produce something special. With some blistering pace throughout the young contingent, Lambie and Matt James scored try doubles and Radder's scored the other; without very questionable refereeing the score could and should have been nearer the ‘40' point mark. Recognition must also go to the ‘workers' up front in Muzzy, Sean Hughes, the irrepressible Macca brothers and Ed Labinski who won almost everything up front. A special mention must also go to Mark Chapman who by playing prop for the first time, added real strength to the front row- well done.
Big thanks must also go out to injured players Gavin Kemp and Steve Clarke who travelled up to support and coach from the sidelines.
Man of the Match: Paul MacDonald
This is our best season in years because a core of the same players, are coming out week in, week out.
Please keep turning out for us whenever you can, success has a knock on effect and it aids us in attracting new players to our great club- onwards and upwards !

A very big thank you to all of you who supported the Saracens Scimitars second charity rugby match against Wolverhampton RFC in September. Nov 9, 2006, 2:56 pm The Saracens Matchday Village will have a new, welcome addition on Sunday when the Saracens Amateurs take on the running of the marquee bar. With a couple of incidences at recent matches affecting the services available to supporters (including a last minute cancellation of the marquee bar facilities at the Glasgow game), we have been looking at alternative options for a supplier to commit to all matches in all competitions. The Saracens Amateurs took over full control of the facilities at Bramley Road last year when the professional squad moved their training facilities to the University of Hertfordshire at Hatfield and given their success in running the operations at Southgate, it seemed a perfect partnership to get them involved in the matchday at Vicarage Road. Saracens President Lee Adamson, who himself will be working behind the bar on Sunday said, "It was great to be invited to get involved with the matchday and as well as supporting the club it also offers us a great way to boost our funds. I'm sure Saracens supporters will be happy to know that profits on the day will be put back into the game at grass roots level and we look forward to offering a great service to supporters of both teams." The Colts stormed through to the last 32 of the National Cup with a 31-3 win over Basingstoke. In a forwards dominated match the Colts never quite managed to establish their fluent attacking game but in the end achieved a comfortable victory.
After a slow start and with the forwards struggling to impose themselves over the opposition the Colts conceeded an early penalty. The response from the team was immediate and from that point on the forwards took control of the game The breakthrough came when Ed Labinski scored a try with cleverly worked lineout move.
Some clever kicking from Kris Cottenden kept the opposition in thier own territory for most of the first half and as a consequence Kris was able to keep the scoreboard ticking over with some well taken penalties.
Early in the second Adam Beckmen forced his way over for a try (thankfully there was no video referee). After some fine breaks by Brad Martin and Adam Murphy that kept Basingstoke on the back foot a storming run by Ori Agbareh led to his first try of the year. His roar in celebration will be long remembered by the opposition and by the watching Finchley spies behind the goal!
In the last few minutes of the game some fantastic goal line defence kept Basingstoke out. Perhaps the most satisfying aspect of the win was the team defence. This is the fourth game the Colts have gone without conceeding a try. A fantastic effort. For that reason the captain of the defence, Adam Murphy, was man of the match. Nov 8, 2006, 11:23 pm
***TEAM SELECTION IS NOW ON THE WEBSITE***
The Herts/Middlesex III North League Champions Trophy will be presented at a short ceremony before the kick off at this Saturday's home game v Old Millhillians.
Christo Kasabi will accept the trophy on behalf of the entire playing, coaching and management squads who worked so hard to win the League, and promotion to II North, last year.
A Saracens Vice-Presidents dinner is being held at the Club prior to kick off. In view of the importance of the fixture to this season's chase for the League title, it will be interesting to see which team former Old Millhillian player Nigel Wray is supporting....! Nov 8, 2006, 10:00 am
One of our former Saracens Colts is doing his dissertation at Brunel University in the highly topical field of cardiovascular disease in middle-aged, physically active men.
If you are interested in having your own cardio health and fitness evaluated free of charge as part of this survey, please read the full details in the Players Only 'Forum', where you can download an application form. Nov 5, 2006, 5:35 pm
Result of the weekend was undoubtedly the 31-3 win by Saracens Colts over Basingstoke, a victory which takes them into the last 32 of the National U.19 Knockout Cup. The Colts have now scored 98 points and conceded only 3 in their fixtures in this prestigious competition so far.
The 2nd XV produced an excellent performance at home to beat Old Tottonians 2nd XV in a friendly fixture.
The 1st XV dropped their first league points of the season, losing 32-29 away at Hendon. This makes next week's home game versus Old Millhillians massively important...
