Saracens Rugby Camp – Saracens Amateurs RFC 

Saracens Amateurs RFC are teaming up with Saracens this Easter to give you an opportunity to train with the Aviva Premiership Champions and their award wining community team. 

Saracens will be holding Two separate Two Day Skill Camps at Bramley Road and we encourage all Mini and Junior players to develop their rugby by attending this course. The camp, designed in consultation with the Saracens academy for young aspiring rugby players, will provide the perfect balance of fun, intensity, excitement and education, using modern training techniques, player focused sessions and development through game play. 

A very competitive pricing structure is in place this season with a 10% online discount also available. It is recommended you book early to avoid disappointed.

Although we have a whiteout at Bramley Road, leading to cancellation of games and training, the Club will be open Friday night and over the weekend as usual and will show the 6 nations matches live on the BIG screen on Saturday and Sunday.

Judge Jock (aka Euge) will no doubt be looking for a few mates to help him drown his sorrows over a beer or two....

To celebrate this Saturday's Calcutta Cup, there will be a prize of a bottle of 12-year-old Scotch awarded to the competition leader after this weekend's first round [thank you for donation, Graeme Davis!]. 

Over the next few weeks, the Under 17s will be offering players, parents and friends of Saracens ARFC the opportunity to take part in "Golden Ticket" draws.

All funds raised will go to support the Saracens u.17 Tour to Spain this summer.

The first draw we are able to offer will give you an opportunity to win: 

FOUR tickets to see Wales play Scotland at the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff on Sunday, 12th February. Kick off - 3pm.

The total value of these tickets is just over £300.

The cost of each golden ticket is just £5 and the number sold will be limited to 250. 

If you are interested in entering this Golden Ticket draw, representatives of our age group are normally at the Clubhouse on Wednesday evening and Sunday mornings and will be happy to take your details.

The Saracens Reunited 10-a-Side end of season tournament will be held in April 2012, it was agreed by Club Senior Coaches & Team Managers this week.

This highly popular tournament was first instigated in 2008, and is contested by former Saracens U.17 Squads, who reunite for a day of 10s rugby, playing alongside their former teammates. An all day programme of rugby, music, BBQ and full-day bar ensures a great atmosphere and a chance for players, parents and friends to catch up with former and current Saracens throughout the day. 'New Saracens' - senior & Colts players who are now at the Club, but did not play their junior rugby at Saracens - are also invited, and actually won the inaugural tournament! 

Each former U.17 Age Group is eligible to enter Saracens Reunited 2012, and further details for Coaches, Managers and Team Captains will be circulated shortly. We are hoping for a strong turnout of sides dating back to the Class of 2000, all of whom will be attempting to wrest the trophy away from current holders, the Class of 2005.

Colin Veitch

Saracens players, friends and families joined together on Friday to celebrate the life of Nick St John Moore, 2002 Age Group Team Manager, who sadly passed away last week after a long illness, bravely borne.

Nick, pictured here in 1998 with Phillip Sella and 4 of the 2002 Age Group players, was a very popular and respected figure at the Club, whose tireless devotion to the squad won him many friends. His contributions extended into Middlesex Youth Rugby, and to the support of Saracens Colts, formed in the 2003/4 Season.

"I have only the warmest of memories of Nick at Saracens" commented Colin Veitch, 2002 Age Group Head Coach. "His boundless enthusiasm, ceaseless energy and continuous good humour helped bind our Age Group squad together, and certainly was instrumental in making our final u.17 Tour to Australia such a success. It is a tribute to him that so many of the squad are paying their respects today, 10 years on. The Club has lost a fine man and loyal member, whom we will all remember very fondly".

Nick's son Daniel and daughter Laura read the tributes to their father at the service in Watford, and together with Nick's wife, Gail, welcomed his many friends to a celebration of his life at the Noke Hotel in St Albans after the ceremony.
